Pics and a little review
Here she is, kind of bitter sweet for me but you can see what a beautiful sub it is. I did notice some light swirls on it from who ever polished it before boxing which I will let Pete know about.
Now my take on performance:
When I hooked everything up the sub had trouble turning on, it was very odd but I think it may had to do something with getting it to switch from wireless to wired which after some flicks back and forth it came on.
First thing I put in was Michael Buble, the bass is completely different than a ported sub that I'm used to. Boomyness is gone, at first I thought that was a lack of bass but the more I listened the more I knew I was listening to bass how it is supposed to sound, Clean, exceptionaly tight and smooth. The bass enveloped my room not just coming from the direction of the sub but behind me, beside me and everywhere else.
Then for a demo of the First scene in Transformers. The throbbing blades of the Osprey heli were deep and made my couch shake something fierce. Along with the attack scene from Blackout I know this sub has what it takes to go the distance. Sub gain was half way turned up and Ch lev. was at +1, so this thing has plenty of headroom which Im scared to use in my little room and would probably be just too overwhelming for me.
I'm extreamely happy with Hsu on the design and performance of this sub, hopefully FedEx doesnt screw my next one up. For now the sub has to go back in the box and my waiting game starts over but I know what I'm getting and I guess that makes it worth it
