Do you all have any input on how to properly adjust the delay on my AVR? The sound and the lips in some DTV channels do not match. In some cases it is to fast and on others is to slow. Is this a firmware update issue with the AVR?

Any ideas!

It may be an issue with your cable company. Try hooking up the sound via analog rca cables and see if it works. If it still delays its your cable company. If sometimes its faster and sometimes slower, It really sounds more like your cable feed vs anything else.

As haoleb indicated. A receiver cannot cause sync issues in both directions, only one direction, as best I know.

What audio signal are you getting, analog or digital? Is that going to the receiver?
What happens when you connect the digital or analog audio directly to the TV along with the video?

This problem is very common. It is caused by stupid, idle ignorant and poorly trained engineers and techs at the origination of the signal, or down the chain, who don't know how to use SMPTE codes to synchronize the signals. More evidence of the decline in standards of the modern age.
