Anybody heard any of the new songs on the radio yet? Seems like it's getting a decent response from the other forums I'm on. Regardless I'll be buying it when I get back.

I heard one tune on the radio this morning and it was Rockin! I only heard the second half of the song but the guitar work was amazing.

I was bringing my 5 year old to school and she was not impressed. She wanted Jonus Bros.

I've heard two songs... I'm a bit disappointed so far though I haven't really had the chance to sit and listen. My first thought was "this kinda sounds like St. Anger."

I don't know, maybe I'm just not metal enough, but I think they're best when they actually being more musical than thrash. I still think the Black album has been untouchable. Songs like Fade to Balck, Hero of the Day, and Unforgiven II, however, are very much in the same vain and are amongst my favorits.

There albums can't get any worse than st.anger. They have a new producer for this album, hopefully it is not overly compressed.

the album is on the internet, illegally ofcourse, The song the day that never comes is the slowest one of the 10 songs on the album, it is old school fast metal, i like it,I think its better than there past 4-5 albums, Saint Anger was a joke. I will be buying the cd when it is released in the U.S. and on Guitar hero world tour, and i already have the 27th of october scheduled off at work so i can go see them in concert the night before :D

Seriously, that has to be one of the worst albums ever made or produced...What makes it all the worse is that it comes from a band I used to like and respect.

I used to love them back in the "...And Justice For All" and "Ride The Lightning" days. They lost the plot somewhere around the Black Album IMO.

St. Anger was pretty bad all around. Rick Ruben is producing their new album. I was not impressed with his work on the Red Hot Chillipeppers Californication album thats for sure.

Rick Rubin is highly overrated as a producer. I don't really like anything he has done since Blood,Sugar,Sex,Magic. I agree with you Minus 100%

He is just a big name, overrated is the perfect way to describe him. The compression on Californication is just unbearable.

And snare drums, one mic at a time. :D

Bob had been in that camp for way to long. When your producer starts acting like a band member ........ Its time to find a new producer....:D

It just popped into my head. That's about the only thing that I can contribute to a Metallica discussion. Okay, the only positive thing. :)

I just can't stand the way he mic'd the snare. IMO, overheads are the way to go. Jazz style.

I've heard one sone on the radio...I'll buy the CD so I can hear it proper.

Metallica has never had good SQ. I like most of their albums. ("and justice for all" being my fav.)

What I loved about St. Anger is that they let the snare "ring". I know thats what most didn't like but I'm a sucker for that snare sound. (in the proper application)

I've heard two tracks via their website. It sounds like it has potential so I pre ordered it, should be able to hear it on my system next week.
