What if I start a thread in the Wrong venue

I just realized that I placed a thread in the wrong forum.
What happens to it? I have since placed it where I think it should go and have apologized to all moderators. Will I be
be sanctioned? I will be more careful in future posts.

You can just leave it there and ask the mods to move the thread. They've done it before, and it's no big deal. No worries about that stuff - you're not going to get sanctioned.

Now, if you keep creating multiple threads with the same title and wording, that's another story. Just kidding! However, try not to post duplicate threads.
