Numerous people have been complaining about how flimsy the cord is. :(

Could someone please help me to choose a better pair?

My next pair after them were the Etymotic ER-6i. Very good buds and IMO a lot better than the Sony although a bit more expensive (I paid $80 online). Another one to look at is the entry level Shure but I forget the model number. They retail for $99 but you can find them cheaper online.

Better pair of buds? For the price? I believe you will have to spend considerably more than the $25-$30 that these go for to get anything substantially better.

WMaX, considerably more? How much more? Can you recommend a better pair of earphones? Even if the sound quality is not as good as the EX71. Durability is very important.

Many people are complaining that pair is horribly flimsy, I don't want to spend so much money on something that will fall apart so quickly.

I can't spend any more than $40.

What would you say about those two models?

How durable and accurate do you think they are? Are the headphone.com graphs trustworthy?
You linked the Sennheiser HD650 and those are over $300.

BTW at $40 the Sony EX71 are going to be pretty much the best you can get.

Has anyone seen any frequency response graphs for the EX71?

Sorry, I sent the wrong link. I was talking about the Sennheiser CX300-B. How good is that one?

Ok, I heard that the Sennheiser isn't any good either. What else is there in my $40 budget that is more durable? (even if the sound quality is worse than the EX71SLA)
