Hi everyone...im buying a pair of Bowers and wilkins 703's and 705's with Htm 7 without the box or manual from a person in US who says he owned it only for 4 months and had his local home theater dealer install it for him.

i asked him to transfer the warranty to my name, and he says he spoke to his dealer and since he initially did not register with B&W ,all i need to do after i purchase the speakers from him is to enter the serial no's of the speakers, online on B&W website and the warranty will transfer to me automatically.

my doubt is can the warranty really be transferred to another person from the original owner like my seller tells me....should i go ahead and purchase the items from him??

please really would appreciate everyones input on this cos im putting all my savings on the line!
thank you

Welcome to the forum, beams6.

I think that the safest thing for you to do is to contact B&W directly. Don't take anyone else's word for it. You can certainly get opinions and advice from us, but I say to definitely get the official word from the company themselves.

B&W shows right on their web site:

"2. The warranty is only valid for the original owner. It is not transferable."

Even if you are the first person to "register" those speakers, if you ever need warranty service they are likely going to ask for the original proof of purchase, which should have the original owner's name somewhere on it. If it does not, then you would probably be ok. The dealer may be wanting to sell a new set of speakers to the original owner of these B&Ws, so might be giving you the wrong information about warranty transferability.

the majority of the time too, If they work fine when you get them you probably wont have any problems...

I might be wrong, but I don't think replacement drivers are that expensive to replace. I don't know about the crossover. Other then the cabinet what else can go wrong with a speaker?

Good call those are great speakers and what the hell if something is wrong like Mazer says cheap replacement parts....
