Phil, I'm very sorry to hear that.
Has mom had any chemo therapy so far?
It's got to be very tough on all of you.
Do you make her as comfortable as possible, or do you have the Doc try anything, to see what will work?
Please keep us posted.
Rick
Hi Rick and thanks for offering your support. My Mom has not had any chemo or radiation. It is doubtful she ever will at this point. However, that is solely up to her. My Mom is my world and I will do everything in my ability to make her comfortable. It is times like this when I wish I wasn't divorced. However, I will make it one way or another. Appreciate your concern my friend.

Cheers,

Phil

Phil, I'm so sorry about the outcome of the surgery. I was shocked by your post, and my eyes started to water. I really thought that it was going to go well.

You certainly know more than us, so I apologize if I'm speaking out of ignorance here - now that this event has occurred, hopefully the doctors will be able to come up with something else to pursue. Definitely a setback, but hopefully not the final option.

Best wishes to you and yours, my friend.

My prayers are with you

Speakerman39,

My prayers are with you. I can empathsize with you, I lost both my parents to cancer.

My prayers are that the doctors will be able to isolate and treat your mother's cancer. There have been many new breakthroughs lately and hope is alive!.

I was glad to see the above statement.

Hi Fox and thank you for your kind words. There is something you can do-just take a few moments and say a prayer for my Mom. Right now she needs all of the help she can get. It would be most appreciated. :):)

Cheers,

Thank you so much for your kind words. Really sorry that cancer got both of your parents. It is a dreaded disease that I hope one day will be cured. Perhaps the Good Lord will allow that to come to pass. Your kind words go a long ways my friend.

Speakerman39,

You and you mother are definitely in my prayers. Cancer is difficult to deal with. My mother had, and eventually died from, breast cancer fourteen years ago.

Peace be with you.

Hi Doug and thank you for offering your kind words. It really has helped me get through this and thus remaining strong for my Mom. You are correct in that sometimes doctors do not concur regarding treatments options. I assure you, we will explore ALL options if it is the last thing I ever do.

Cheers,

Phil

My heart goes out to all of you that has offered prayers and kind words. :):) It has made a difference as I am happy to report my Mom is getting her port put in soon. This means, she has decided to fight it and undergo chemo. However, this is going to be done very soon as the doctor does NOT want to mess around. My Mom has also said she will even take radiation if need be.

I am so very proud of my Mom. She has been brave all throughout this entire ordeal. ;);) Hopefully, she will get out soon and be able to come home. Once again, I appreciate all of the prayers and kind words. Just can NOT thank you all enough. If you all knew how much it has really meant to me. Kudos to all of you and God bless.......

Cheers,

Phil

Hi Phil. I just caught up on this thread. I am sorry to read that things are not going as hoped.

I hope the chemo works. I went through this years ago with my mother. As a loving son, I know you will do whatever is right for your mom as the both of you go through this.

Hi Phil...How are you and your mom doing?
Hello, I am doing fine thank you. My Mom is gradually getting her strength back as the surgery was very hard on her. :(:( I really don't think she could take it again. Right now, my Mom is ascertaining whether or not she is going to take chemo OR radiation. Her family doctor wants her to do radiation as does her heart doctor. Chances are, that will be what she does. Otherwise, she has been in good spirits. I am so proud of her bravery as she has never been known to be a quitter.

Thank you so much for caring enough to ask. There are a lot of good people here that has offered me their support. For that, I am forever grateful. Prayer is a very powerful tool that can transcend lives imho. Hope all is well for you and Major as the storm has dropped a large amount of rain. Not sure if that happened in your area or not. I just hope and pray all of the people in the path of the storm are safe and sound.

Cheers,

Phil
