Best use of 12 panels

I just ordered 12 pieces of, 2' by 4' (2" thick), OC703. I've got a few pics of my theater on this forum if you want to take a look. It's a 25' by 15' room with the screen on one of the 15' ends and the seating is 13' from the screen. I'm going to probably use at least 4 pieces for the sides to knock down the first reflection points so the remainder I was thinking of putting towards building bass traps for the front corners and maybe one for the back of the room too. I'm no expert when it comes to acoustics so any advice from the pros out there would be much appreciated!:)

After you glue them together you are only going to have enough for 6 panels...order some more....

First reflection points. Side walls and ceiling. Use a mirror, flashlight/laser, ladder, and friend to determine those points.

Bass trapping. Particularly at the joining of boudaries. The corners make for good candidates. Generally, I read that the front wall gets the most benefit.

Lastly, its a general guideline/starting point, but for listener positioning, 38% is just that as far as room length. There can be slight variation room to room. 38% of 25 ft is 9.5 ft, either from front or back wall. Just FYI. I glanced at your setup, and I presume the pic size is ideal for location, so forget it. Hey, I setup my HT system with video first in mind, and audio second. I use a separate stereo for music listening.

Cheers, good luck. BTW, I think you will enjoy the tightening up the sound/image/presentation of adding treatments. It all helps.

Thanks. So I'm probably looking at 4 single panels for the the side walls, 2 singles hanging from the seiling then 2 double panels in the front corners and I guess I can make another double panel for the back of the room. If it makes a difference it's a suspended ceiling above which I put some pretty thick Roxul insulation between the joists.

Definitely put something above the drop ceiling - especially over the seating and around the perimeter. Doesn't have to be anything fancy, just standard insulation filling the joist cavities will give you pretty good broadband bass control.
