Ugh, that sounds truly hideous. To me, even a little rap can ruin an otherwise good album. I like Blondie and Aerosmith, but would not consider owning the CDs containing Rapture or the rap version of Walk This Way.
When someone is playing rap in a car next to mine, it is like they have raw swewage pouring out of their windows!
To each his/her own. FTR, very little true rap exists these days. It's usually hip-hop blended with spoken word. I love good rap just like I love classical, jazz, country, gospel, reggae, swing, metal, rock, electronica, hip-hop, etc. Good music is good music. It knows no genre. Crap is crap. There is bad rap, bad jazz, bad country, bad rock, etc.
Now, if you said hair band rock, I would almost be inclined to agree with you. But classic Guns 'n' Roses shatters that myth, too.
