Hi Guys; I am new to the forums here and I already have one question :)

A shop in my city has 2 subs I was interested in. I was wondering which one will be the best performer. Keep in mind I use my system for equal parts music and home theater.

Option 1 - Klipsch RW10D
Option 2 - Energy S10.3

The Klipsch is $700 tax in and the energy is $600 tax in. The $100 difference really doesn't mean anything in terms of which one I will choose.

Thanks all!

If you want to keep your budget down check out Axiom Audio. They are Canadian so there will be no shipping charge (included in the price). They have a 30 day trial too. The AV123 has been a well regarded subwoofer but there are lots of delays getting them out to customers and since you live in Canada, shipping the product out to you will be very very expensive. Also if you would not broker the shipment the cost of that subwoofer will be over $1000 dollars I would suspect.

That is why it would be nice if new members would put in their LOCATION when first registering.

I would like to limit my purchase to $700 or less after tax. The only axiom around this price point is the EP175. Would this be comparable to the other 2 subs I had mentioned? Also the fact that I would not be able to audition the Axiom is a small concern, however I have read generally very positive reviews about Axiom in the past.

I do not know anything of the subs you mentioned above, so it is hard to say. I do not think you would be sacrificing any quality choosing the Axiom sub, in fact it will probably will be a more accurate sub (just a guess). If you have a small to medium size room this sub should provide you with enough output too. What are the dimensions of your room?

You will be able to audition products from axiom audio in your home for 30 days. If you do not like the product, you can send it back within 30 days no questions asked.

My room is approx 13x17' (carpeted). It is an apartment living room, but I would like to buy keeping in mind that I may move into a house a year down the road.

That sub should be fine for that room. The final cost delivered to your door would be $620.37 including the PST (ontario) = 8%, GST =5%. If you are interested in it I woud suggest emailing or calling them and talk to one of their audio specialists. Their audio specialists are very, very helpful and can offer you solid advice before you make any sort of purchae to see if it is right for you.

Couldn't he get a PB12-NSD in Canada for $600? From it's measurements it would spank all of the other subs listed.

I agree, but it is probably out of his budget, the prices are higher in Canada. For the PB-12 the cheapest one retails for $699.00 on that site. Not sure if that price even includes the sales tax here in Canada and the shipping charge. You could be potentially looking at $800-$900 dollars for the PB-12. How is the SVS PB10, that retails at $499.
