I have a wierd problem with my Yamaha RX-V563 reciever. I have my Motorola DCH-6416 set top box hooked up thru an optical cable. Sometimes when pushing a button on the remote for the set top box, the volume changes on the reciever. I may have the volume set at -30 db and it will change to -35 db or -29 db. Doesnt seem to matter what the button on the remote is. I thought it was something wrong with the receiver so I took it back and the dealer replaced it with a new one. I hooked it up and it does the same thing. I have looked at all the settings in the menus and cant find anything I may have done to cause this? Anyone have any ideas? Yamaha was no help.

thanks

It is cross commands. Obviously your two units share some commands.

Thanks for the reply. Could there possibly be a fix for this?
A universal remote, might solve this. If not, you will have to live with it. The other thing is see if your cable company can give you a different model or brand of set top box.
