by the audio virus. I proposed to my girlfriend on the 4th of July. She said yes and we could not be happier. I got her a great looking ring and finally got the bill last week. I just looked at the numbers and thought about how great my home theater could be with those numbers. Should I see a doctor?
(really no home theater could be better than her happiness though)

no need for a doctor. but you are sick ... just like everyone here. it IS audioholics ... :)

right now, i look at everything in terms of:
1) hey that car is worth 10 subwoofers
2) im not buying that! that's 10% a subwoofer.

Actullay that is really funny cause I really need a sub for my HT. I'm was going to get her the SVS PC-Ultra but I thought she might hurt someone with it on her hand.:D

LOL..same here Mike. Every time I spend money of significance, I think to myself "How Many Ultra 13's I could have bought with that". ;);) Once infected, prepare to stay broke. My buddies ask me all the time how come I NEVER seem to have any extra spending money. So, I just simply invite them over and once they see my ht room all questions regarding available funds are answered.:eek:

Cheers,

Phil

Congrats Nick on the engagement. I wish you both lots of happiness. I also respect that you are able to keep your priorities straight. Love is a very splendid thing!!!! Sometimes it is great and at others it can hurt. Just be careful as becoming two is hard work where open communicatio0n is the key to staying together. Kudos to you.

Cheers,

Phil

This might be beyond what you're willing to do for anybody's happiness but I think if you watch Titanic with her before and after the sub gets there, you will have manuvered her into being at least partially open to the idea of dual subs. ;) Especially if you can cry on demand. :D

Might need to make it a double feature with "The Notebook" if you're planning on dropping the bomb for two PB-13 Ultra's ;)

And hide a bottle of Visine in your pocket to REALLY wet your eyes.

She is a fan of the cheesy love movies (ZERO BASE) so I will have to get some Visene. I have been looking at the Emotiva's dual subs. Maybe I can nag her into SUBmission(haha that was bad!). "Honey don't you want a vibrating couch after a long day at work?"

With that scenario, you probably don't need the visine. The tears should come all by themselves. If not go to the deleted scenes in either movie and you should be bawling. "Please, make it stopppp!":D

Maybe I could use the ring to make my system sound better? I could take the diamond and put it on the speaker for better "imodulation." It would help with the flux capacitor I have. If light is redirected in the diamond, sound must be too. Right?

Titanic is the female version of LOTR.

be happy it's a one part movie then you can take revenge and make her watch a LOTR marathon.

my wife dreads the day LOTR comes out on BD

So I didn't see your name in that median age thread. I guessing you're in your later 20's because you seem happy about this marriage business. :) Older guys .... not so happy.

The good news is that married men live longer than single men. Ironically married men are so much more willing to die.
