HI
Strange one here - HDMI Switcher plays SOME DVD movies with BOTH audio and sound and OTHER movies IT WILL DISPLAY A BLUE SCREEN accompanied by sound ??????
I have a DIGITECH AC1694 4 port Optical audio and HDMI switcher (HDCP & 1080p capable ) that has an Olin HVBT 2000 HD SET TOP BOX (1080p) and a Samsung HD VR-355 DVD/VCR (576p/780p) Combo going thru it to a NEC PXT-42XD1 Plasma (576p/780p) All units and HDMI Cables are V1.3.
The Video and sound is fine for TV Channels from the Set Top Box to the TV and surround sound system through the HDMI switcher on Port 1 of the switcher. (SET TOP BOX) using HDMI and TOS cables
The Video and sound is fine from the VCR playing videos to the TV and surround sound system through the HDMI switcher on Port 2 of the switcher. (DVD / VCR COMBO) using HDMI and TOS cables
The DVD player passes audio and video thru fine from the switcher to the TV via HDMI and surround sound system by Tos Optical fine at 576p BUT ONLY FOR OLDER DVD"S movies
FOR NEWER DVD'S It passes thru SOUND ONLY and displays an entire Blue screen on the plasma.
If when suffering a blue screen you cycle to vcr or set top box on port 1 you immediately get video restored. Changing back to DVD gives the blue screen again. I have tried resetting all units and have tried different leads and settings . At the moment Plasma and DVD are set to 576p.
If I run the HDMI cable directly between the DVD and the Plasma it will Play ALL DVD movies - picture and sound.
Why is this switcher being fussy about displaying video for different type DVD movies showing some (newer DVD'S) as blue screen with sound and others (older ones) perfectly.
ie Robo Cop plays video and sound , Serenity, Gettysburg, Fantastic 4 etc play with sound and a blue screen.
Any help would be appreciated.
