I am shopping for high end inwall speakers. I have been told that the Axiom in-wall on-wall speakers are some of the best. Can anyone give me any advice. I am going to install a 7.1 speaker system.

Regarding Axiom, some like them some don’t. Your own ears should be the deciding factor. You could order a pair of their M22s for a test trial. Be warned though that the M22s don’t play very deep on their own. If you’re satisfied, send them back and get the in-walls. Axiom is very accommodating.

I’d also like to suggest that if your situation allows, for the price of the Axiom EP500 you could do a dual setup of the AV123 MFW-15s which should help even out your room’s bass response when positioned properly. http://av123.com/component/page,shop.product_details/flypage,shop.flypage/product_id,189/category_id,9/manufacturer_id,0/option,com_virtuemart/Itemid,37/

BTW, have you purchased the receiver?

In the 3 plus years I have been around these audio forums, I have never read that Axiom in-walls were "some of the best".

I have had expeirence with the James products. They are a pretty unheard of brand name around these circles but they do make a nice speaker. In the showroom where I used to work we installed the grand concerto's for front L&R and had either the baby grands or the 83sdx i cant remember...for the rest of the speakers in a 9.4 setup. (with 4 EMB1200 subs)

The one product of theirs I really disliked was the powerpipe subwoofer. That thing is terribly boomy. That setup was really nice but its also very expensive. I think the Grand concerto's run 7k each. They did not sound 7K each good to me.

Axiom is also coming out with what appear to be nearly flush mounted in-wall speakers with a sealed back box compared to their onwall/inwall speakers. And from what I believe they will be eventually adding in even the M80 into that lineup.
