Newbie needs some advice.

WOW...What a cool site. I found this place while researching some stuff or my basement, and was wondering if anyone could give me some good advice.
My first HT was a infocus X1 with a Onkyo outa the box set up, but when I sold my house a few months ago the buyers wanted it all to stay...WHEW!!!! Pretty much gave me my excuse to get some better stuff. Now what I've gotten so far is pretty modest compared to most of what I've seen on here, but I'm pretty excited about moving up a step to the mid range stuff.

So here's what I've got so far:

Epson home cinema 1080p projector
Elite 106" fixed screen
Onkyo TX-SR705
Infinity Beta 40's
Infinity Beta C360 CH
Infinity Beta 20's
Infinity ERS 110DT's
Infinity SW-12 CH Sub

The questions I have now are, why am I seeing some of you running 2 subs? Does it make difference? And as far as difference goes, what about running a seperate amp and one of the power conditioners? Are these things that even though I'm gonna be running a mid level system, would they make a difference and is it worth the money to buy them?

I'm still totally confused about the whole bi-wire thing for the towers, and at a loss at what cables to buy. I gotta say the price of some of these cables I've found online, is crazy to say the least.

Any helpfull input would be greatly appreciated and if I'm missing anything again, could use some hints.

Your room has a great impact on the low frequency reproduction as the waves are so long. Great deal of research shows that multiple subs at the right locations could smooth out the nulls and peaks that the room causes.
How large is your room? If you like the impact of a sub, may want to consider something more substantial
