Subwoofer A<>B switch

I bought a portable Boston Acoustics subwoofer for use in the master bedroom and on the patio. I plan to physically move it between these two locations.

I'm putting in a main run from my system up to the master bedroom, where I'd like to put an A<>B switch. The A position would run the BA sub when it's in the bedroom, the B position for the patio.

Do I even need a switch? Would a simple Y adapter suffice, knowing that one end will always be without any resistance (i.e., the sub will be connected to the other run)? If I do need a switch, what do you recommend?

Use Y adapter

I would use the Y-adapter.

The sub output is pre-out level and you can connect two subs at once. If you eventually get a second sub you could leave both connected.

An A/B switch in this case is not necessary and would just be extra hassle setting to A or B position.
