Hancock - More then Meets the Eye

It was down to Wanted and Hancock. Glad I chose Hancock. You can watch all the trailers you want, but there is a story in this film that you don't even see hinted at. I won't spoil it, but the story is much more complex then you think.

Decent amount of action with some good humor added in. Will Smith fits the part quite well, and Jason Bateman is flawless. No crazy nudity or anything from Charlize Theron but she is pretty hot nonetheless. The Movie isn't going to be anything epic, or be a huge award winner, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was.

Recommended.

Very well said here sheep. I liked this movie myself. Lots of good humor throughout. One thing that caught me a bit off-guard was just how hot Charlize is. I mean, she has always been attractive, but in this film she is absolutely stunning to say the least. On a side note, the same can be said about Jillian Anderson. Personally, I can not wait for the new X-files release.

I HATE, hate, hate, Wil Smith. That said, I always end up seeing his movies eventually. I even have I, Robot and I Am Legend on Blu-ray, (more for the picture and sound quality than anything else).

I had absolutely NO interest in seeing this movie............... until I saw a trailer that had Charlize telling him that he had to leave because he was turning human. Hhhmmmm... nice little wrinkle they threw into the super-hero genre. I'll probably rent it when it comes out.

I like Will Smith, can't help it but somehow he's usually pretty entertaining to watch.

In any case, I liked this movie and so did the people I watched it with. We all thought it was left open enough for sequels, and they could be interesting. It was fun, more interesting than I expected.

I enjoyed Wanted more than this movie. The previews to Wanted don't give much away either, even though it seems like they do.

That said, Hancock was still very entertaining. Next week comes Hellboy 2 and the following week Batman. It's going to be a good month for movies (as it always is).:D

This is the first summer where I'm feeling like the number of movies I want to see is overwhelming. Usually theres one or two but this summer starting with Iron Man there are like 5 or 6 or maybe more, I have no idea!

I like Will Smith.

I saw a commercial last night that gave away the "other" part of the story, and it's made me want to see it a bit more.

Just like Indiana Jones, I thought it was going pretty good and then it just got weird.

I still liked it overall. My wife did, too. It was entertaining, but definately not a classic.


I'm still anticipating Dark Knight tickets. Holy crap, is that movie going to be awesome!

I agree Seth. I can't wait to see Batman!!!!! Do you know when the new X-Files is coming out? Jillian Anderson is really looking good. Much better than before or so it seems anyways. ;);)

My son saw it this weekend and said it was pretty good. Critics and viewers seem pretty split about it overall though. That said, it looks like it made $180+ million, which more than covers the $150mil it cost to make.

It's sad that the first black supa hero is a drunk, doesnt shave or shower, is mean to kids and people in general. And to top it off he gets weak around a white girl!. The black mans kryptonite!

That being said, I still like the movie.

Dude, The Falcon was black. And that was back in the 60s.

The Green Lantern was black for a while, too.

Blade is black, and is pretty much the most successful black supahero til they added ryan reynolds ...

nothing against ryan reynolds, but i kinda liked his comedic movies TOO much that i can't see him playing something serious.

missed this movie in theaters, ill catch it on BD :)

Hey Mike, do you think they will make another Blade since Wesley Snipes has gotten a lot of bad press as of late? Gosh, I sure hope so as I really like Blade Trinity.
