it all started when i saw this pic over at avsforum by flageborg...

i was so impressed that i started the oak and rosenut polls, when rosenut won, i ordered a pair ... was really excited.

then i saw these pics from flageborg:

now i'm depressed.

showed the second pic to the wife and said, look, other people are doing what you suggested ... stacking the subs so they are above the listening position. she said great, you can do that too.

then i showed her the third pic and told her that was impossible. she said, if i could save enough money, she wouldn't stop me from getting a total of 8 subwoofers (btw, i told her flageborg maybe has some oak ultras to the side or to the rear) ;)

:D

i'm just putting this on record so i can show the wife in the future when i win some lotteries or rob some banks.

Ummmm....uhhhhh....budabudabudabuda....ewwwww. Holy guacamole, those are some sweet set-ups. At first, I noticed the PB13-Ultras stacked on top of each other. Then, I think I almost blacked out when I saw the cylinders on top of those! Sweet mother of all that is good and pure...

Mike, I have no doubt that you are going to end up with a fantastic system.

It's not s****y, it's minimalist. :D

Yeah, that word gets by the auto-censor. I "bleeped" it out myself. :)

All you would need is is a leg rest and a beer fridge next to him. There is plenty of room for that;):D.

Yeah, after gawking at the speakers the first thing I noticed was the dude in a lawn chair. Classic.

Only thing I can say is OMG  I only have one Ultra, and feel that it is enough for my room, but this guy has SVS envy! Or do I .

Subs are by far the most expensive items in this setup. The bass must be crazy! I'm sure those Swans were a pretty penny too.

When is enough enough?

Really...what is the benefit of that many subs? I'm assuming it's not just more bass. There's got to be a balance.

And you have the nerve to call yourself an Audioholic!

Hey Hey don't get me wrong! I totally believe in retched excess. My question was for real and not questioning the wisdom of such a setup. I was wondering if there was a specific setup archietecture that requires and/or benefits from that many subs. I woudl think there would be wave cancelling and other issues. I'm actually curiius as to how it works with that many subs.

Must be an EQ in there somewhere to handle all those subs, but with them all co-located, I imagine they aren't cancelling out.

That is some serious subwooferage.
