I can't help you out with this, but I just wanted to say - wow! Two of either model would be impressive in a room that size. I think the key might be that you want to use them mostly for music, and I don't have much recent experience with subs and music (mostly just movies).

I was watching the Paul van Dyk dvd Global last night thinking how nice it would be to have a nice fat sub sound permeating the music, I measured and was listening at about 85db so would probably run the subs a bit higher for that

btw Adam I noticed your picture, I have a white shepherd too, a 7 year old female named ilsa after Ingrid Bergman's character in Casablanca

Very cool! Niki is not, as far as I know, a white shepherd - but she might be in part. She certainly looks like one in the picture, though! The adoption agency said that she is a spitz mix (she has a curled tail).

Back to your subs - like I said, I don't have an opinion on those models. However, I will put in my two cents on SVS. I have a PC-Ultra and love it, and I was extremely pleased with the folks at SVS and their customer service. My first unit arrived with what was possibly shipping damage (hard to really tell as it was so minor), and they shipped me out a new one (at zero expense to me) just to be on the safe side.

Dude! You're gonna be poundin' with any of those. My guess is you've ranked them from highest to lowest price? Kinda partial to the Ultra...No Conquest in the mix eh?

Having a PB13, I too am kind of partial to it, but quite frankly in a room that small, any pair of good quality subs will more than fill that space with bass. Because the room is so small, I would consider the pair of HSU ULS15's.

Thats what I was thinking save a couple hundred from the ultras and still get precision and plenty with the ULS-15s. I have considered the conquest also, but not convinced it's all that for music.
So anyway its going to take till fall to get the funds saved up and I think av123 decided to attend the RMAF in October so I may be happy enough with the MFW15 demo to get them. Really looking forward to that show.

if i had 1300 cubic feet to fill, id get the dual ULS-15's.

any bigger, you'd have to remove some furniture to fit in the subwoofers.

It's cool you're able to go and demo those MFW-15s...hopefully they'll have their production issues ironed out by then if you decide to go that route!

Yes, I second this. Sealed subs are considered better for music, and the new sealed Hsu's also go way down deep also. Two might be overkill in a room that size.

BTW I too own a PB13-Ultra, but used to own a Hsu VTF-3 HO Turbo, and the Hsu is very musical. Dr. Hsu makes very musical subs.

Do you prefer the HSU for music ? I have dual MFW-15's and the one I have set up sounds infinitely tighter than a Jamo D7 THX Ultra 2 subwoofer (15" sealed servo) in the same position equalized flat.

Full review next week.

If your lacking floor space I think a pair of the new HSU subs would be ideal. In a sealed 1300cu/ft room duals of any of your picks is overkill.....so you'll be in good company around here.:p

It's not overkill, I like the idea of having my own private rave :)
although I work too much to stay up till daybreak...

got a new idea, get dual ULS15s for music and have a conquest in the back closet area to use during movies

I wonder what difference I would hear between a pair of PB13 Ultras and a pair of ULS15s
