All kidding aside, I hope all is well.

Hope all is well, but it is near the start of the summer. A lot of people start to leave the caves this time of year and spend more time outdoors. I'll worry a bit more after he's been absent for more time.

He is not even checking in on the Floridans get together in July thread. T-Rex step on him???. I hope he is okay whatever it is.

Really lucky to be in here

If something should happen to anyone, you guys will run a navy seal rescue operation, good to know there are such people as you guys out there.

Now, I'm sure Strat will be back soon with an incredible story

I can't believe that no one on the forum has his phone number, or knows where he lives. :(

What's up with that?

I really miss Strat's participation in the forum. I sent a PM a while back, but haven't had a reply. Whatever the reason for his absence, it must be important. I have a street address, but I don't want to intrude upon his privacy. As much as I'm concerned and hope everything is OK, I don't see it as my place to interfere with his real life.

Is there an internet protocol that fits situations like this, that balances the unexpected absence of a member against his personal privacy? I don't know, but I lean strongly towards respecting personal privacy and hoping for the best upon his return. What says the forum?

My thoughts on this......
I think the private address really should be respected, but it would be fair for someone like yourself to send him a letter to his private address, because you are concerned..... but that address should not in any way be made available to a forum!

No way would I ever give someone's address. It's simply out of the question.

As far as sending a letter myself, I've thought of it. But I wouldn't want to impose upon his personal life. I figure that if he could or wanted to post a note to the forum, or PM/email a member, he would do so. That he hasn't indicates that he either can't or chooses not to do so, in which case a letter is equally unlikely to generate a response. At the very least, he should be able to see this thread and see that people miss his presence, hope for his return and send their hopes and prayers that everything is well in his life. But such an unexplained absence does raise the question of whether everything is OK and whether there is anything that concerned forum members can do to help.

I couldn't agree more with this post. Sending a letter IMO is not invading, or interfere with anyones real life. This forum is real life. What when we sit behind the keyboard we all get transported into a different world? We all sport capes, or something like superman? "I am mister Internet"

I do value the opinions of forum members so if the consensus is to send a note, I could do that. It's just not an issue that I've had to consider before.

Another thing.....
Strat could be in a position where he, for some reason, is unable to get on the Internet to check these posts or PM's, and the letter may.... In such a case generate a response, perhaps.......
