Sadly enough I sold the 350Z and purchased an "practical" car. The reason is the fact that I just need more room and something more comfortable since I drive around 100 miles/day.I always stick with Nissan as I have had great luck with them and this is the 6th or 7th one I have owned. You may ask why I dont drive the Pathfinder I got last year and the fact is, it gets 14 MPG compared to an average of 21MPG to the new Murano. Plus Carolyn is driving the Pathfinder.

Is the Murano a little bit of a girly car...you bet...

Is it cool like the Z....no way...

Does my back and legs feel better after a day on the road....yep

Does everything I own have a BOSE...sure seems like it...

Oh, that reminds me, What is a compact flash card and how do I load my music on there. This goofy car has a 9.7 GB hard-drive "music box" onboard it it seems more difficult than just plugging my external HD into something and transfering my music.

I had the Murano as a rental car earlier this year and I actually really liked it. Not enough to buy one, but I thought it was a very solid, comfortable vehicle that I could live with on a daily basis. Congrats!

Sorry, can't help you with the HDD; hopefully someone here knows how it works.

I just broke one of my own rules and looked at the owners manual. The Compact flash and the Music box are two different things. To download to the music box, I have to insert the CD and record it on the HD as it plays. The compact flash is just a regular flash drive to load from you computer and pop into the car but has nothing to do with the HD. Seems to be two silly ways to play music but what the heck, I got the package at no charge.

A CF card is a flash based memory card used on D-SLR cameras like Canon 40D. All you do is buy the CF card online for cheap from somewhere like newegg and then get yourself a usb memory card reader that can read CF and just drag and drop the music from your PC.

Also there are different speeds of CF cards and there are large capacity CF cards at sizes of 8GB that are called microdrives but they might or might not work with your deck. Check the manual to see if it's microdrive compatible.

My CPU has a slot labeled "CF/MD". So can I just insert a CF and drag my music to it vs. buying a usb memory card reader? Sorry, I am a tad computer dumb:rolleyes:

Congrats on the new vehicle, BTW! Sorry to hear that the Z was put out to pasture, though. Never owned one, but they look like they'd be fun.

...But, Bose sound pretty good in cars...I mean compared to all that road noise and all.:D:D

My Dads girlfriend has a 2008 NIssan Titan and it came with a Rockford Fosgate system. It sounds pretty crappy to be honest. The subwoofer it came with under the seat is out of phase slightly, and it cant hit the actual bass notes worth crap, it just thumps with the beat or kick drum. The highs are very recessed, and the mids sound distant (except for the vocals). It was ten times worse when she had the EQ set to +3 bass, 0 mid, +5 treble.
I set it back to flat without telling her and she didnt even notice any difference (well, she didnt say anything atleast.) She hasnt set the EQ back yet, so I guess shes happy.

Ok, next problem. I got a CF card but all my music is downloaded in WAV files and I need to use MP3 for the Nissan. How do I convert these over?

There are a number of software packages, but I know that iTunes can do it very easily. What software are you using?

I don't use that one. I'd suggest checking to see if there's an option for "Save As" if you select a group of files. Or, perhaps, a convert function? I'd open up the help in WMP and search for "convert". Either that or download iTunes.

You can just convert them and create new files - so, you'd have them in WAV and MP3 formats.
