Faux Panel

Hi,

I want to put up some fauxpanels.com on my walls. I cant use green glue, since I live in an apt. I was thinking of putting 1/2 inch spacers and some type of material between the panel and the wall. Can I use shipping peanuts or something?

Would some type of foam or insulation work for you, shipping peanuts seem like they would be a pain to keep in place

Just curious, have you asked the manufacturer/seller? Their installation page says, "We’ll give you the complete instructions, including which equipment and supplies you’ll need."

BTW, do they sell acoustic panels? They just look like cosmetic treatments to me.

I completely agree. You're adding another reflective layer, which will not make anything any better. Are you trying to improve the acoustics in the room or just making an aesthetic change?

In addition, if you leave a gap between them, you're creating a triple leaf which can actually make sound transmission WORSE at some frequencies.
