Very preliminary review of Toshiba 52XF550

All I can say is, it works!

I've done nothing but change the pic mode from the eyeball searing 'sports' mode to 'standard' but I can detect no dead pixels, no red/green/blue push, and little to no clouding or flashlighting on a pure black screen. Black is black, white is white, and the colors are pretty good.

Here is a less than stellar picture. The room is a work in progresss and yes the carpet is crap but doesn't look quite so bad in real life. Another month or so and that problem will be remedied with porcelain tile and I can get on with the rest of the desired upgrades.

Dude, you're hurting me. :D

I cannot wait to get rid of the carpet. The color/design of the tile is the hardest part to choose but being a technical kind of geek I get hung up on the technical specs too, like the PEI rating, MOHS abrasion rating, breaking strength, etc. I think I've found what I want though.

Soon I can do what really matters and upgrade the speakers, receiver, dvd player, etc.
