They'd definitely be friendlier to the cables and the connections. I'm afraid of something like those being too long. I'm trying to minimize the overall length of receiver/connections/dials to under 18" total length...I'm still not sure if this is possible since I haven't been out to measure the actual physical length of the Pioneer 1018 w/dials. I'm assuming their specs only include the case or case with back connections. -pat
