I wish I could have gotten in on the cheaper price, but I don't like waiting lists.
and a price increase when these aren't even ex-stock yet...kinda kills it for me.

Why the price increase? Is the dollar not going as far in Cali, Columbia?

AV123 is increasing the price of the MFW-15, maybe on Monday

Satin Black: from 599 to 699
Wood finishes: from 699 to 799

that's + 130 shipping for each one.

I think this trend will continue for years to come. The strength of the dollar vs. foreign currency isn't going to improve in the near future. It seems as though all manufacturers have raised prices considerable in the last 18 months. Not a good trend for impulsive audio shoppers like myself.

The dollar isn't going far anywhere plus the rising cost of transportation, they are shipped to the U.S by boat.
Im guessing profit is probably the common denominator also.

$ isn't strong, transportation and fuel costs have skyrocketed and the sub is still underpriced based on performance. The price hike may have been in the cards anyway.

demand > supply = higher price

inevitable.

but I would say it was more because of fuel rather than the $. the USD seems to be appreciating again. (at least over here)
bad news for me. more pesos for less dollars.

These boats still have to go through inspections as well and any dalays at the panama canal costs them even more. The boats could be stuck in their for days to even weeks. Yeah you are probably right that they have seen a spike in their transportation costs because of increased fuel costs and that would definetly reflect in their prices.

I am not sure of the geography involved, but I would assume going through the canal would allow for the least distance travelled which would then be the most cost effective way of sending these massive vessels from Columbia to the united states. What other options would they have?

Mfw-15

FYI,
The AV123 X-series speaker go from Columbia up to a warehouse in Miami and on to Colorado or directly to the customer.

With some reviews comparing 1 MFW-15 to the SVS ultra, it is still a bargin. They also offer discounts on multiples and frequently have sales and b-stock for even better deals.

If you buy a big heavy sub from AV123, SVS, HSU, ect. expect to pay a lot for shipping.
