Need help with 7.1 analog

Hello Everyone,

I need your help to figure out the settings of 7.1 analog out of a blu ray player. I will connect the player to Marantz receiver SR8001 and I would like to know if I need to do the speaker adjustments (distance, calibration with SPL meter etc.) in the player, in the receiver, or in both components. If the settings need to be done in player only, will I leave all values in receiver in "0" for 7.1 in?

Personally, I would do all the speaker setup in the player and set the receiver to Direct Mode, which bypasses all the speaker/bass management.
