Spider Came Unglued !!!

There is an 1/8" space in between the spider and the basket. I have seen special adhesives for this on line but thought to ask for suggestions. Specifically I want to know if contact cement or super glue would be ok to use.

I like the contact cement idea because I could make the space in between the spider and the basket 1/2" by letting the speaker rest on the back of the cone. Then both surfaces could be coated and maybe recoated if need be. I think I might apply the adhesive with a Q-Tip.

How does this sound so far?

The speaker is a JBL GTx 10.

I have found out that this sounds like a terrible idea. There is an alignment to the voice coil that is controlled by two things: the spider and the surround. If either one comes loose the alignment is off. Realignment of the voice coil is probably outside of the abilities of a person wondering about which glue to use for a spider.

I'm going to have it taken care of by a shop.

If the spider is off all the way round, then the dust cap has to be cut out, without cutting the cone! Then you have to put factory shims, or shims of the specified thickness between the pole piece and the voice coil, all the way round. You must remove all old glue with a razor blade after an application of acetone. Then you glue back the spider. After the glue is fully cured, you remove the shims, and glue back a new dust cap of the same specification.

I changed my mind. The spider on these drivers sits in a detent of sorts.
