Well, I know EVERYONE is going to be jealous when they read this. About a month ago Best Buy ran their 3 year, 0% interested financing deal on Samsung TVs $999 and up. They had a 40" LCD that did 720P and had 3 HDMI inputs on it. I bought the TV and have been very happy with it.

Fast forward to yesterday.

My G/F and I start talking about the deal again, as they are running the 3 year deal on ALL HT $999 and up, and she has been wanting a mid sized TV for her bedroom (32-37"). We trip out to Best Buy. After literally 45 minutes of talking, asking what was in stock, she decides on the Touch of Color Samsung 46" (almost had her talked into 52") and SHE buys the TV.

We could barely contain ourselves as we loaded it out of the box into her Jetta just to get it home. We moved the 42" Plasma (also a Samsung) and the first thing I watched was Fantastic Four, rise of the silver surfer. Absolutely breath taking.

The motion looks so natural. I have seen many Blue Rays and HDs in 1080i and 1080p. None looked as good as this. The side to side motion and top to bottom is without flaw. Even regular def digital cable looks more crisp and natural. The screen is a high reflective one and the colors really pop and seem like they "sit" on the very front of the screen, almost like there is nothing catching the image (glass, etc) to distort it.

Samsung really hit a homerun with this TV. Right now we are watching gladiator in HD with the Denon pumping the SS. I may never leave the house again. I have been working all weekend, so I will do some PS3 gaming and such later in the week and give feedback.

We are up to:
46" 1080p 120hz Samsung LCD
42" 1080i Samsung Plasma
40" 720p Samsung LCD

All in a 2 bedroom apt. We have our priorities in line :D

Jealousy, thy name is Adam.

Very nice! Thanks for the review. You mention that the screen is highly reflective. Do you notice any glare off of it from room lights or windows?

Adam, we are lucky in that the only window is our large sliding glass door, and we normally keep it covered. Since I worked 8-8 yesterday, I didn't even get to watch it in daylight, and I am again working 10-8 today. I'll give an update later in the week.

I did play the Haze demo on it last night, and it was only in 720p. Looked good, but no better than the plasma did.

it's VERY reflective and people complain about it constantly. if you have a lot of windows, that is not the tv for you.

good tv and cool purchase by the girlfriend. that's a plus. my gf thinks it's dumb that we have this big 50" now and misses the 27" because it didn't take up as much space.

UPDATE:

The screen is a bit reflective. However my only window (which is actually a big glass door) is to the left, not behind the TV, so I don't mind it a bit. We also do most of our TV watching in the evening and night, since we work M-F. Gaming in the console is -great, Harry Potter in Blu-ray looks amazing, it is a wonderful unit.

I highly recommend this to anyone wanting a medium-large size TV for a dedicated room or the correct setup living room. I would take this over most projector setups (minus size) I have seen and think it is easily the best picture I have ever seen.

Samsung FTMFW!
