Expensive mods?

Modded DCX 2496 for $1575. Sounds fishy to me. How about you guys?

Total B.S. for suckers. There is nothing to improve on the DCX so far as what is audible by humans according to the known credible perceptual articles dealing with the measurable attributes.

The only worthwhile 'mod' I have seen, and this is certainly not it linked above, is a mod to give the DCX 6 remote-controllable output volume controls, so you can use it as a pre-amp.

You are totally correct here this is an "audio pile" as most of the expensive mods are. If a company makes a piece of gear they want to make the best gear they can make as their reputation is on the line. Why don't you buy the gear you need instead of modding what you already have. 4,000 dollars for a Mark Levinson mod to a dvd player, thats insane. But people still pay for crap like that because if an "audiophile" says it is the thing to do.....I DON'T get it....
