Just thought I would ask who is your favorite actor/actress?? I would have to say someone like Samuel L. Jackson or Morgan Freeman. I also like Kevin Spacey and Gene Hackman. There are others but enough about me. I want to hear from you. ;);)

All of your choices are great. I also like Gary Oldman a lot. He's amazing.

I think my favorite, though, is Al Pacino. Nobody can chew the scenery like he does. :)

Hey Jim, thanks for posting. Yeah Al is great too. "Say Hello To My Little Friend" I always say............LOL!!!!! :p:p Gary Oldman is kinda out there isn't he? You know, guys like Christopher Walken, Jack Nickelson, or even Ray Liotta. They kinda seem to be in their own little world if you know what I mean.

I think my favorite would have to be who delivers the best performance in what ever movie I decide to watch tonight...

...until I watch something else, that is.

So many choices, I can't think of a favorite right now. For actresses, it's generally whoever I have a fantasy crush on at the time. For actors, I don't think that anyone can match the authenticity and emotional delivery of Keanu Reeves...

Gary Oldman.

Listen to his actual voice then watch "Immortal Beloved"...

One movie, fresh in my mind, honorable mention gos to Jeff Daniels for his role in "IronMan". I never thought much about him but he nailed this one.

Only five posts to throw Keanu under the bus...could be a record!:D

Gary Oldman would most likely top my list as well. I have seen few who have delivered as many great performances in such a wide variety of roles. Another favorite of mine in adddition to Immortal Belovded from him is Sid & Nancy. Christian Bale has actually surprised me a few times as well - The Machinist, for example.

Women - I'll have to think about that one...

Some other great Gary Oldman performances were Zorg in The Fifth Element and the DEA guy in Leon, The Professional. I liked Immortal Beloved the best, though.

Nobody is a better actor than Steven Seagall. :D

j/k

I would have to say Robert De Niro and Christopher Walken are a couple of my favorite actors. As far as actress, I like Catherine Zeta Jones, not because of her acting ablility, but because she is some great eye candy.

Agreed with everything said so far... I always thought that Oldman and Sean Penn were two of the better actors of their generation. We got some great, younger actors such as Ed Norton now. No DeNiro yet? Well, there ya go, DeNiro too... :D

I can't think of a female actress that has been more impressive to me than Cate Blanchett for female actors. I have owned Elizabeth for a while now, but have been holding off for a certain friend. The last movie with her I have seen might have been the Aviator, and I can't believe her K Hepburn impersonation! Between that role and the elf queen Galadriel :p

I had a hard time swallowing Immortal Beloved. Need to give it a second chance. Just please use a stunt double for Isabella when she plays the violin, sheesh. I could teach a 4 y.o. to hold a bow. C'mon...

Parting shot: Keanu. A loooooong time ago, there was this hilarious article in Time magazine, pretty much making fun of him! He was a playing Hamlet , doing a tour perhaps up in Canada. You guys know how the movie "Speed" has a certain font, striped, in bright red, sorta like: SPEED ?

That's how TIME was promoting his Shakespearean tour:

HAMLET

but in bright red, with stripes going thru it, LOL...

Ed Norton is also very good, but he has quite a few not so good roles, such as that one where he started opposite DeNiro. I thought he was great in The Illusionist, but my favorite with him is American History X.

I used to like Spacey, but he also has a lot of not so great roles mixed in with his solid ones. Shipping News is one of my favs from him that is lesser known.

Cate would definitely be on my list of favorite women and Elizabeth would be the reason.

Hell, too many to list them all, here are a few...

Al Pacino, Robert Deniro, Morgan Freeman, Demi Moore, Denzel Washington, Ed Norton, Jim Carey, Kevin Spacey, Val Kilmer (if only for his role in 'Tombstone'...classic, one of the best roles ever, by anybody), Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, and believe it or not - Brad Pitt (can't stomach the celebrity gossip stuff, but have always thought him to be a great actor and very diverse), etc., etc.

My parting shot: Nicholas Cage - indefinitely removed from any of my such lists, as these days he just can't seem to get it right anymore.

Robert De Niro
Marlon Brando

Looks like Gary Oldman is very popular today. Perhaps I need to check him out a bit more.

Wow, lots of good actors/actresses mentioned thus far. How about the likes of Anthony Hopkins or Sean Connery. Still yet, Robert DuVall or Ed Harris. I also have to mention Denzel Washington and Matt Damon or Bruce Willis. As far as actresses go, the hotties would be like Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, and Haley Barry. Demi Moore seems to just look better and better with age. Do any of you agree here?

Daniel Day Lewis.

Need to watch more of him but from what I've seen is pretty impresive.

Oh yea, Clint Eastwood. How's 'bout him Morgan Freeman and Gene Hackman in "Unforgivin". What a great movie!
