I have a 2808 AVR and a 2500btci BD player. Should I set both of these to "pure direct"

Pure direct is for 2 channel listening, with a sub if you have it. Basically it shuts off all uneccessary circuits, both audio and video, to get the cleanest sound possible. I use direct, similar but doesn't shut down as much circuitry, for the radio and most cd's I listen to. I only use pure direct for critical listening. In pure direct mode your reciever won't pass video or the center and surround channels, just the L/R mains.
