Almost finished... but the BS continues...

After a complete remodel of the family room, knocking out glass doors, building walls, new furniture, etc, I was ready for my equipment. I placed my order 3 weeks ago.

1st, the Def Techs are speical order so it's going to be 3-4 weeks... but the TV and the receiver on the way. 2 weeks go by nothing. I call. Order was never shipped. They expedite the TV which I go in 4 days. Super. My Pioneer Elite 94 comes Friday... GREAT! Until I open the box. They had the nuts to send me a used/demo/refurbished unit. They sent just the receiver, not even neatly wrapped in plastic. No remote, no manual, no mic, nothing.

I'm in awe at how bad service has gotten and why companies think it's okay to treat their lifeblood this way.

As some of you know... I'm a financial analyst at one of the large brokerage houses. My very strong belief is that our economy continues to suffer from this poor level of service and product quality. Because I can't get what iI want, when I want it, in the condition I expect it... I find it hard to spend my money and I believe it's an epidemic.

I can't wait to hear the nonesense runaround when they finally call me back on this one.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Where did you order the stuff from, and why did you need to special order the Def Tech's, what is different about them?

I ordered everything from Digital Craze. They have very good pricing and have a really good reputation and recognition from this and other forums.

I guess they don't stock a bunch of the Def Techs, so they have to special order them. I understand that part, but why would you ever send me an opened or returned receiver with all the stuff missing? That's just stupid.

I sent them an email Friday night. I've tried to cal them this morning but haven't got through.... no answer yet. I'm starting to get this sick feeling in my stomach about all this.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. It seems some companies not longer have integrity and customer service as a priority. Hope it all resolves well and soon.

But the receiver being like that is UNFORGIVABLE!!!

It says in BOLD letters on the digitalcraze website: "ALL PRODUCTS are BRAND NEW and FACTORY SEALED"!

I will NEVER EVER recommend Digitalcraze again.

I guess digitalcraze is good for using as a Price-Matching tool and nothing else!!!

I'm willing to reserve final judegement until I see what they do about it. When I was in financial sales, I can recall many times things going wrong despite your best efforts and it was amazing how quickly they get out of hand. I try not to judge by the mistake, but by what it done about it.

Don't get me wrong... I'm pissed as all get out, but I'm willing to see what they'll do about it before I really lose my mind.

I'll keep the board posted.

I told him a friend of mine ordered some DefTech speakers & Pioneer receiver. The guy I spoke to actually knew your order!!!

He said, "he also ordered the Mitsubishi TV, right?"

He said you need to call 1-800-978-6253 and ask for Greg!!!

Just in case things go south, make sure you take pics of the reciever and the box it came in. Also, if you haven't yet, start making notes of the date and time you called and who you spoke with, left message, no answer, sent email etc. Plus be sure to make a brief note about what they said. That way you can easily reference it if you start to get the runaround and you have documentation if things get ugly.

Sorry to hear about the drama and I hope you get it resolved quickly and amicably. Keep us updated.

Def Techs - all special orders.

My Def Tech CLR3000 was special order. I have the UPS shipping tracking and it is scheduled to be delivered today to the store, but the store is closed on Monday and I go out of town on business for three days tomorrow. It took 3 weeks to get.

Thanks! I did get through and talked to Greg, just after my last post. He didn't have much of an explanation and just said "it sometimes happens." I don't know that that means exactly.

I made it clear that I want me equipment and will not wait for it. He told me he has to call his supplier and he'll get back to me this afternoon. We'll see.

That's ridiculous - even if they clear this up for you and ship you the products you ordered in the condition that you expected, the fact that they shipped it to you this way in the first place just reeks of horrible customer service and lack of attentiveness.

It's as if they attempted to pull one over on a customer, assuming that he who ordered wouldn't scoff at the condition in an attempt to get the order cleared.

From the sidelines I too, will sit and see how this unfolds, but best of luck to you in getting this matter resolved. :)

Just called them. They said they're expecting new ones in their hands at the end of the week, but they're trying to find one to send out to me sooner.

The whole things sounds fishy to me at this point. Now I'm wondering what's gonna happen with my speakers. Are they going to come next week or are they going to give me the runaround.

Oh they were very thorough in charging me the full amount almost 3 weeks ago. I told them I would call them at 5 to hear the latest.

I would just cancel the whole order and let them know if they don't give you a full refund, including your shipping costs, that you will have your credit card company perform a chargeback.

This is total BS. Most don't charge you until the equipment is shipped. I would be livid at this point. You must be a really calm laid-back type of guy eh? Glad you are letting us know what is going on. I plan to also keep an eye on this thread to see how it all unfolds.

HAA! That's too funny! I don't anyone I know would describe as calm and laid back... especially when stuff goes south. My wife almost spit her drink out when I showed this to her!

Really though... I guess I'm just a bit wore out. I've been doing this remodel for almost 2 months in different parts of the house and I've had different levels of success and disappointment. I'm just over it all I guess and too damn tired to get all crazy. Like I said, I'm pissed... really pissed, but I also want my equipment. They asked me to give them until around noon tomorrow to locate a new piece. In the end, I'll take the route that gets me my stuff fastest, but piss me off enough and I'll rebox the receiver and the TV and send it all back out of spite and start the campaign of ruin.

Thanks for the support guys. I'll keep everyone posted.
