It can't decode it, but it may be able to bitstream it since it's not one of the new HD audio formats. I will try to remember to test it this evening.

I checked it out and it will play DTS-ES and DTS 96/24 when set to PCM, but I'm sure you aren't getting the extended surround (ES part of DTS-ES) but you can easily change it over to bitstream and and outputs the es and 96/24 just fine.

PS3 on Onkyo AV Receiver 805

That's right.
After I update the firmware 2.30 the symbol on my receiver still...PCM!
Any other clues?

it should still read PCM as the PS3 can't bistream the new audio formats. Hit the display button on your PS3 and you will see dts-hd ma.

PS3 decodes the new blu ray codecs and sends them out decoded as PCM. Your receiver will only display the new codec symbols if IT decodes them. PS3 outputs the signal decoded as PCM. Check the display option on your PS3 to confirm that the new blu ray codec is being output. If you go into the menu while you watch your movie, you can hit display and it will show you the audio and video codecs being used.
