since the sub woofer is given its signal via an rca type cable, how do I wire it from my closet to the living room, over 65 ft [up and over or down and under]. Can I pull the signal from the tv itself since its closer?

I don't know what you mean by pull the signal from the TV but if you have a very long run for the subwoofer cable you can use RG6 coax cable (the same cable that carries your cable TV/satellite) and terminate it with RCA or terminate it with the normal F connectors and use an F to RCA adapter.

My house came pre-wired with RG6 Quad Shield from the wall behind the AV stand to the side wall and is probably about 30 feet total. I had it terminated with F connectors but use an F to RCA adapter to use it for the sub.

You need to provide some more details about your system. If you are using a reciever you'll be wanting to run the rca cable from the reciever's SUB output to the subwoofer. Use RG6 or RG6 Quad cable. You'll be fine at that length. You can either buy a cable premade to length and run it that way or buy a roll of the cable at lowes or home depot and terminate it yourself. Home Depot sells some Carol cable "Studio grade" RG6 quad that I kinda like. Its has a translucent blue jacket on it. Cant miss it. If you want something easier to terminate and more flexible a standard RG6 would also work. Its also cheaper.

No, the subwoofer's signal originates at your receiver's LFE (or subwoofer) output.

The other advice about the RG6 cable for a long length is very good and you should consider this.
