Hi guys,

There is an audio socket beside the D-sub/serial data port for PC connection. This is on an LA32R8 32" LCD TV with built in digital tuner. Does anyone know what that is? It is not RCA nor BNC, does not look like one and I have tried those anyway, didn't work. The socket is black, square based, protruding cylinder jutting out from the middle with a hole the middle.

Sounds like an optical digital output. Many TVs have digital outputs and 99% of the time it is optical.

That should be for PC audio. Have you tried a 3.5mm or 2.5mm stereo connector, like the ones for an Ipod headset?

Connecting Computer
- Connect the D- Sub cable (optional) to "PC (PC IN)" on the rear of your set and the other end to the Video Card of your computer.
- Connect the stereo audio cable (optional) to "AUDIO (PC IN)" on the rear of your set and the other end to "Audio Out" of the sound card on your computer.

Thanks mate. That's what I have printed on the user manual, but what kind of cable/connector is the "stereo audio cable"? If you look closely at the diagram in your link, it is not the standard BNC nor RCA.

Thanks everyone.

It is the commonly available 3.5mm BNC stereo connection. I've tried it again, but this time pushed it in a lot harder till it clicked.
