I have a HP 32" LCD that i want to put on the wall.
I just wanted some feedback on a specific mouting brand or item that works well.
I am not sure if they are universal or does each brand have its own manufacturer.
any help would be appreciated.

thanks

The mounting holes on the back of the TV's are set up in universal patterns. You will need to buy a mount for your size tv so it will be designed to carry the weight of the TV and in the case of smaller TV's not have the mounting bracket too wide and be visible.

I purchased mine from E-bay (sanus) and monoprice. I used the tilting one from monoprice for my parents 32" LG and it worked great.

The sanus one for my 42" lcd is of better build quality (thicker metal and better hardware) but cost twice as much.

If the tv were bigger or a plasma (heavier) I would go for the sanus but for that size tv the one from monoprice would work great.

That site linked in the thread has a compatibility calculator and the guy who recommended it (BMXTRIX) does this stuff for a living. As mentioned in the thread, he saved me around $75 over an OmniMount that I was considering because that is what my manufacturer recommends.

There are a number of options out there. I personally wasn't going to let cost be too much of a factor but in the end I went with a less expensive mount based on BMXTRIX's recommendation.

I recommend Peerless mounts to all my clients. They are high quality and can be purchased at Amazon for a fraction of what you would pay local retail. They also come with a complete set of hardware that matches up with every TV I have installed to date (which is a bunch). They even include masonry anchors if you are installing on brick.

Second the peerless mount. I don't own one but a neighbor does and it works well.
