My New HT...........in progress!!!!!!

Here are just a few quick pics I snapped of my new dedicated ht. I have the basics out of the way, but still need to hide my wiring behind my front-stage as well as the speaker wiring to my wall mounted surrounds. Feel free to offer some suggestions as I always strive to improve things. Hence, if you like it say it AND if you don't that is okay too. However, please elaborate as to why you don't like it. Thanks a bunch to everyone here that has helped me along the way. It has been and always will be much appreciated. :):)

It looks like a nice cozy room with some good equipment. The only thing I don't like is having the audio rack effectively in front of the TV.

I'd either move the audio rack to the left corner behind the left speaker or better yet get a new rack that could hold the audio equipment with the TV on top. StudioTech makes a rack that looks very similar to your audio rack that would work.

very nice! but would agree that you should get a tv rack that will hold everything (or make one)

Thanks for posting MDS. I agree that I need a new stand but the room is ONLY 7.5' wide. Most of the stands that would hold all of my equipment would leave little room for my RTi6's. Right now, money is a bit tight after moving and all. I do plan to build a small riser for my LCD and raise it up about 4-5" higher so that the top of my Yammie 663 will not be blocking my LCD. Any advice on how to hide the wiring?

Thanks once again Mike. I plan to get a stand sometime in the near future. Right now funds are tight due to my recent move. For example, have had to pay (3) utility bills this month alone NOT counting my electric deposit. The electrician charged me $145 just to inspect my electric before I could have my electric turned on. I am, however, trying to win the POWERBALL so that I could retire and just diddle with audio and video equipment all day.....LOL!!!!:p:p Perhaps, taking better picture too eh?

Thanks a bunch. The small space has created some unexpected problems. However, the sound so far in nothing short of being absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!!

Good luck with the Powerball thing but don't waste your money on tickets this week 'cause I already got the winning ticket in my pocket. :) I take it you have a pair of RTi4's for surrounds? One good thing about that room is that it's not going to be hard to fill with sound pressure. I'm hope there's a door to close the whole thing off.

I'm seeing that you have room to weasel that rack out of the way but you having the rack where it is speaks of your priorities. :D It really is more about audio than video for you. :) What center, player and TV did you go with?

I know what you mean. My room (living room) is 16' wide but due to the fireplace on the right side I really only have 86" of wall space whereas you have 90". Taking into account that a typical tower speaker is about 10" wide, I had a custom stand built that is 66" wide.

I looked at a lot of stands to help me with my design and there a few that are 64" - 66" wide so hopefully you can find one you like that fits into the available space.

Shoot Alex, I am already on my way to picking up my winnings. :p:p You are correct it does NOT take much to fill the room with sound. I can close the room off completely which improves the sound even more. The RTi4's were going to be used as back surrounds as I am using di-poles for side surrounds. Sounds like you know me quite well in that I am more about AUDIO than video. Never realized that until now it was so obvious.:eek: Hers is my set-up:
Fronts: Polk RTi6's
Center: Polk CSi3
Surrounds: Polk FXiA4's
LFE: Mirage Omni S10
RECEIVER: Yammie RX-V663
Toshiba A-3 HD DVD Player
42" LG 1080p LCD
Harmony 670 Universal Remote
eD eQ.2 PEQ (arriving soon)

Now, I am broke.......LOL!!!!! :D:D

I will find something. I plan to try the riser/platform first and see how it looks. Otherwise, it is not my highest priority right now. My next purchase will be a BR player OR a PS3. Still kinda on the fence which way to go given that I am NOT a video-gamer. But, the PS3 looks very impressive. Oppo should be coming out with a player that can play BR discs sometime in the near future. But, who knows as things change all the time.

audio rack

i have a nice one but i live in concord ca and i is way to heavy to ship but if you live in the san francisco bay area i will sell it for nothing. I will give pics if you or anyone is interested. I had no plans on selling it but it would go perfect with your set up. Which is great by the way.

The RTi8's are really not that hard to drive. The 805 should have very little difficulty doing so. However, there have been some reported heat issues with the 805. I did own a 705, but sent it back for that very reason. Thus, I exchanged the 705 for the Yammie 663 and am quite impressed with the 663. As far as amps go, I would look into the Outlaw Audio mono-blocks. They offer a huge bang for your buck and are very well received. Hope this help. Good luck.

nice setup you got there. isn't that sofa a bit big for that room?
I would point the fronts to the sofa so the sound comes directly to the listener.;)

Thank you for the compliment. Yes, the love-seat is a bit big but so would a recliner as the room is very small. I have not experimented much yet with toe-in but will as soon as I get the time. Given that the room is so small I doubt it would really be needed. But, not for sure until I try. Appreciate the suggestion though.
