Yes, J&R web price is currently $499.95 ...But if you call them on phone, They will give you better deal of $399.95 which was the price I ordered yesterday. I then called again today telling them I wanted to cancel because there's great deal of RX-861 going on...They wanted to keep me so they give me $339.95 price...I took it.

I wonder if I call and tell them I want to return the unit because I found a better deal on a RX-V861 if they will offer to refund some of my purchase price to keep me from returning it.

I’m glad things worked out so good for you! I was actually hesitant to post that about the 861 because I didn't want to induce any sort of buyer’s remorse

The more I hear about the customer service at JR the more I plan to shop with them.

Well I just called and spoke to Alex @ 1023, and he said it was not possible to buy the 663 for $339. $399 is the cheapest they offer with shipping. I actually just got my unit in today; $400 Shipped. Definitely wasn't going to let another price reduction miss me.

I aggree with the first one. can you explain the second and third? why are they better? compared the new coming 606?

The Onkyo can pass 1080p/24hz as well I believe, as well as supporting all audio codecs.

The Yamaha likely has a tad better amplifier section along with preouts just in case you wanted to use it as an inexpensive preamp/processor. The Onkyo has two more HDMI inputs as well as a phono input (which I would never use on a receiver).
