Shunyata Power Cable Question

I'm looking at a particular Python power cable with a C19 IEC connector and I'm not sure how to determine whether the connector is 15A or 20A. Does anyone know how to figure it out? Should I call Shunyata and provide the serial number to determine? Thanks in advance. I'm a noob when it comes to this.

A C 19 connection is 16 amp. They are unusual as all corners are rectangular. The common type is the C13/14. Those is on nearly all computers.

Ok, I was under the impression that Shunyata offered a 15A and 20A version(?) of the wall plug and whatever connector (whether it be C19 or other) you choose. So 16A is the standard and it's the only way the C19 connector can be? Thanks for your help.

After taking a quick look I didn't see any prices and figured that if I had to ask....

(Homer Simpson voice) "Shielded power cables...mmmmm" :) A couple of years ago I drove some electricians nuts asking about that stuff.

To the OP: What are you gonna use them for? Even though I'm of the opinion that they are unnecessary, I still think shielded anything is the cats a$$.

These are not for me. I'm fine with stock power cables. I have a friend that likes to throw money around (none my way, of course) so I thought I'd ask for him. The terms "snake oil" come to mind.

I looked into that Python Shunyata outfit. They seem like all the other snake oil purveyors.

They have a power outlet, that is alleged to do wonderful things for the system. There is a graph showing the same spikes going in as going out in a review. They make nonsensical claims for their shielded power cables.

These outfits exist to make money from gullible individuals who have no clue how anything works, and know nothing of the physical world around us. They seem to have an overwhelming need to get parted from their money. Anyone who gives that outfit one red cent is ignorant and mentally out of kilter.

I completely understand. The one thing I do love about these cables is the look of them. I wish I could purchase a cheap power cable that looks as beefy as some of this ridiculous power cables.

He isn't your friend. Friends don't let friends buy expensive cable.

If you want it beefy, why not pull yours through a nice garden hose and use shrink wrap at the ends:D
