I bashed a member(Sheep) for stating this band was talented. I have since seen them on MHD in a Nissan Live set, and currently on Concert tv on demand. Not only are they talented, there is no way for me to understand the mind-set it must take to remember the complex arrangements of the music. And then, be able to play it back live.

My sincere apologies to Sheep.

This is a 2-part song. Give it a chance, and if nothing else, try to understand the talent.

I saw them open up for A Perfect Circle. They were very good live. I think they only played 5 songs the whole time, but they were definitely an experience to watch.

Z, there was a time when you wouldn't apologize to any one.

Me thinks that little girl has made you soft.:p:D

I know you didn't mean this to be as bad as it sounds, but I have always taken great pride in admitting being wrong. If I believe I am correct, I can get a little extreme.

I am a little softer. My experience with my daughter took me down a peg or two.;)

No offense meant in any way. Sorry if it sounded otherwise.
It was meant to be a compliment. A backhanded one admittedly, but a compliment none the less.

Good to see you back.

I prefer the band At The Drive-In over The Mars Volta (share some of the same band members). If you like The Mars Volta check them out:D:D!

That song is from the Album "Frances The Mute". Great album, and a good spin if you're on a road trip, as all the songs connect and blend into one another.

Deloused In The Comatorium is my personal favorite.

One of my favorite songs.

No worries on not liking the music at first, not everyone is going to like what you like.

I saw them on the Henry Rollins show and ran out and bought their latest CD.

I'm old school classic rock guy, too, but I also love weird and quirky, like The Residents, very early Floyd, and most of what was termed "space rock." So this fits right in.

There was a time when their music would have appealed to me, but my tastes have mellowed since then (it is called "getting old", I think. :() They are definitely talented, though.

I'm 51. Growing old doesn't mean you start listening to Lawrence Welk.

Did you buy The Bedlam in Goliath? I'm still not sold on that CD. Plus I have other CDs that come before that one (like Crimes, if I can ever find it).

No, but in my case it does mean buying almost exclusively jazz, new age, world music, and the mellower side of indie. When I do buy rock, it tends to be more melodic and less agressive than TMV. (Obviously, there are exceptions. For example, I like Modest Mouse.)

Yes. Bedlam. After several listens, I'm liking it.

new age, world music
Like I said, Laurence Welk. :D

My most recent CD purchases:
My Chemical Romance: Welcome to The Black Parade
Mars Volta: Bedlam in Goliath
Arch Enemy: Rise of the Tyrant
Arise and Ruin: The Final Dawn
An Evening with John Petrucci & Jordan Rudess

I may be growing old but I'm not growing up!
