All-
New to these forums, but have been involved with forums like these before...and people in here can typically answer the questions that trouble us mere mortals in a matter if 17 seconds. SO - I am anxious to hear your thoughts on the matter.
Here is my set up...fairly humble compared to what many of you have I am sure, but here we go.
Onkyo 685 receiver
Klipsch Quintet IIs with the Rw-8 sub.
Panasonic 50" plasma
We recently moved into a new house (IN to NC) and am running into a problem where I cannot get the RW-8 to STOP giving distortion. The punchier bass come through OK, but on some of the "middle bass" it only rumbles/comes through distorted, not the full bass sound like it should. I know that "distortion" is a lousy adjective, but when we are watching TV or HD-DVD the sub has the sound that is similar to a "partial response" to what it should be playing. All the other separation in the other channels is just fine. When I adjust the dial on the right side of the sub (not sure what you call it or actually what it does) and also when I adjust the cross over, etc no real difference.
Here are my thoughts...I have simply missed something somewhere in the set up and it needs to be adjusted such-and-so. OR the sub was possibly damaged in the move. OR some other reason that I cannot think of right now.
What can I do to better descibe the issue? What else can I do to possibly fix the issue?
Looking forward to your help and suggestions on this matter.
