I have a Rocket RSC200 Signature Center Loudspeaker on order. I ordered it back in February. I was planning on getting Rocket 1000s or Rocket 850s next year.

Here in lies the problem ... I joined this forum and started reading about various levels of speakers and I read and read and researched. There are some very smart, very informed guys on this forum and i think I would be very wise to listen to what you have to say  .

I bought a fairly upscale HT system about 5 years ago. I had a 55" Mitsubishi Diamond and Defintive tech speakers: small center ( I think pro100), small sub (?) and BP2006TL towers the surrounds some off-brand existing speakers that had nine, 4 1/2 inch cones. Since then the den has become the primary room and the original HT room became the media game room with PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, Game Cube and Satellite HD DVR.

The Den became the main room. It already had 4 in ceiling Def Tech speakers (UIWBP, I think). The other Def Tech speakers were moved to the den and the TV, DVD and AVR were upgraded; now all connected HDMI . Now Marantz 8002, Panasonic DMP-30BD, 37" Vizio LCD, Satellite HD 722 DVR.

I now think the way to go is to upgrade center speakers to CLR2002 or CLR300 and the speakers to what I think I want to spend from BP10B, BP7006, BP7004 to BP7002 as probably my top possible. Are the BP7001SC or even higher BP700SC than much better?

Where do you buy Def Tech? I bought at a HT store before and they weren't discounted very much. I went back a couple of months ago to the HT store were I originally bought and ddi not like the reception I got; will not go back.

So the big and first question is should I cancel the RSC2000? It hasn't been charged or shipped yet?

The what level would you recommned if i wanted a good solid center and some good towers ? CLR2300 and BP7004 is around the budget of $2,500 I am thinking about spending.

Sometime i probably need to upgrade my subwoofer also? maybe an SVS :)

Please convince me

Thanks ahead of time for all your responses and help.

Yes on the CLR3000 it's so awesome, I couldn't believe how much better it was than my CLR2002 when I upgraded. Also the powered towers are fantastic, the only difference between the BP7001SC and the BP7000SC is the sub size, and amp power, according to Chet at def tech, they should sound exactly the same, with the 7000SCs having more bass. The CLR3000 sounds good with the BP10s as fronts, which is what I was using till I got my BP7001SCs up front, then I moved the BP10s to surround back duty. I think you would also do very good with the CLR 2500 and BP7004 combo, but I wouldn't do the CLR2003 as it has 4 1/2" drivers and the CLR 2500 has the 5 1/4" drivers.

And for subs, you can't beat SVS or HSU for the money. My SVS sub blends very well with my def tech's.

But to keep timbre ...

Lots of positive reviews on this one. Just as big if not bigger.
I understand SVS is ggreat and probabbly will get an SVS sub. What do you think of the PC-Ultra cylinder sub ? But to keep the timbre , if I upgrade the center to SVS iwould need to upgrade the fronts to SVS also. I think I have decided and keep in the Def Tech family.

Speaking of timbre in Def Techs should I try to match speakers sizes on the center and towers or could I put a CLR3000( 6 1/2") with BP7004 towers with only 5 1/2 " speakers ? Only problem, I found my funds temporarily got usurped for new den furniture and rug.

It's probably best to keep the same woofer size for the fronts and center, but you don't absolutely have to. I was using BP10s with a CLR 2002 center channel, and it sounded fine, but definitely get the CLR3000 if you can, it would still sound great with the BP7004s until you can eventually upgrade again.

Upgraded my Def Tecs !!!

Bought some BP7002 towers and a CLR3000. Installed the BP7002s this afternoon and they are outstanding. The CLR3000 is on order.

Thanks to everyone for their Definitive Technology recommendations.:)
