Sounds good with both at +
The Audyssey systems really works pretty well. It will tell you if any speakers are out of phase. Much to my suprise my FL and center were out of phase....could've sworn I had them right! I think it reported right since they sound much better now. Also, I recieved a new replacement for one of my new PSB image t55 towers. One came damaged a few weeks ago, and It took a while to get the replacement.
So finally, this morning, I was able to set everything up and use the Audyssey calibration.
Again when Audyssey got to the new speaker I had received, it said there was a problem...sure enough...when I put my ear to the tweeter, there was no sound....so I took out the tweeter and the connector had fallen off ( I am a little suprised they were not soldered...maybe that is something I should do?)...but bottom line...my system sounds pretty darn good now!
I listened to my Elton John/Madman across the water/SACD/Indian Sunset about 10 times in a row!! I like this song for testing because it starts with A-capela singing ( I think that is right) which isolates the center channel, has slow soft parts, piano, violin synth, Crecendo's, discrete BASS lead, and powerful phase shifting drums. I also like this song because I am 1/4 Cherokee! And it has a good but sad storyline.
I had talked to you in another post about adding tweeters to my PSB's ...but after this calibration, I don't think I will need to!
