I have been using the Forerunner 305 for over a year, and I find it a useful training device. I actually use the heart rate monitor much more than the GPS function.

I am surprised that Clint did not direct users to SportTracks software. When researching this product, almost all users detested Garmin Training Center and recommended SportTracks. I tried Garmin Training Center once, and I hated it. SportTracks is a wonderful program, and it improves the usefulness of the 305.

I also actually like the size of the watch. It makes the numbers easier to read when exercising. I do not find it bulky.

It's great to see exercise equipment make its way to Audioholics. Does this review mean that Clint is the most athletic and in-shape Audioholics employee?

Polar fan here.

Currently sporting an s625x.

These Polar/Garmin things are great

Current heart rate, % of max heart rate, calories burned, elevation gain, temp, etc. its a great tool for running or bike riding. I won't ride my bike without wearing one.

Ah, I need to update the article to reflect the true Author. I only run when chased... and unarmed... lol
I'm riding my bike alot these days, 10-12 hours a week as I moved up to the "Expert" bracket (gulp) in Mountain biking. Probably going to be a long year:rolleyes: of getting spanked. In this area the HRM stops me from training to hard.

Then on race day, these HR monitors are great to stop you from going to hard and "blowing up". Allot of stuff happens in the woods, and your not smart............

You reach "your number" (heart rate) on the HRM, which is 85% of your max. and then you have to hang there.

Can't say enough good things about these HR monitors.
