Hi There,

I am using the RX-V1500 in a 5.1 set up and I cannot get any sound out of my subwoofer connected throught the 1/8 in sub out (50-watt powered AIWA TS-W45U with a matching 1/8" input volume set to 60%.) I have tested the subwoofer with my LCD TV (which too has a 1/8" sub-out) and it works fine, but when I switch cables to the one conected to the RX-1500, I run a speaker level test and no sound or rumble comes out of the subwoofer when it is on the screen being tested.

I have ran the YPAO and no sound comes out of the sub when it is testing the levels etc. Basic Menu shows SWFR=YES In speaker set up, I have my speakers set to small, the LFE set to SWFR, the cross over set to 80 HZ. The low frequency test registers no sound or rumble when the subwoofer is tested.

Is is almost as if the receiver is not reading the subwoofer at all. Any ideas?

Thanks!

never mind, I figured it out. I was running my subwoofer cables from 2 different sources (reciever/projector and LCD TV) into a mini switch box for my subwoofer....I did the inputs and outputs wrong so I corrected that.

I still had to boost the decibal level of my reciever subwoofer output to +10 but it seems to work now.

+ 10 on the AVR, that doesnt seem right. What sub and what to you have the gain on the sub set at?

I have a 50-watt powered AIWA TS-W45U that us set to about 60% output. This setting on the subwoofer works great for my LCD TV, but the signal from the Rx-V1500 is too low to really make it rumble (especially when I rely on the YPAO function to autoset the subwoofer level) hence, I have to crank up the output form the RX-V1500
