to my family of 90's Yamaha parts...:D
I just got my CDV-1700 in today, and boy is it nice. I know it's not the best LD player in the world, but it matches my 90's style Yamaha gear perfectly. Pioneer silver facers, eat your heart out :D

I'll start at the back, and get to the front last.

Coax In/Out (NTSC, who uses that anymore? :D ), I/O connector (looks like an S-Video with extra pins), S-video out, Optical Out (requires the de-modulator I belive), and analog out.

An oldie, but a beauty. Even has some of the old plastic shrink wrap on the metal of the cabined

On the inside of the cover, foam dampening. The player itself is actually quiet for a LD, and you don't hear it at all with a normal CD.

Killer, bulletproof transport. It's about 3lbs....I think. What's the weight of a Protron DVD player transport? About the same as Bose, easy enough to bend if you look at it funny :D

Output. Yep... not much going on there, except for the coax box and the connectors.

Dual gear driven disc tray. (One of these guys on each side for the disc tray).

Mmm... internals.

Control buttons. Yep, even a dimmer. :D

THE MOTHER of all disc trays. The CD is simply swallowed into the player :D

Not bad......

I told you it looked awesome ;)

All together, kinda. The tuner is under the TV in the cabinet. :/

I like it. You do have a nice retro theme going.
I really like the tape deck!

It's pretty much all early 90's Yamaha gear, except for the P2201 (which could be as old as everything else), the HD-A2, the PS2, the Dimensia Pre-Amp, and the SACD player. The CDV-1200K is a little out of place, just because it's actually a Karaoke Laserdisc player.

Which reminds me... I'll need to get some pictures of that. It's EXTREMELY heavy for it's size.

I've got a mint condition, 100% working, Pioneer CLD-D604 , it sports Dolby AC-3, and DUAL PLAY, fancy word for automatic side flipping. I've got all the paper work and remote.

DUAL PLAY, a fancy word for "It'll more than likely break on me." :D
I actually don't mind flipping discs. I think of it as an intermission.

And, call me crazy, but I love the audio quality on LD as opposed to DVD or HD formats. I don't know why. Then again, I like tapes and records :D
