Good morning, I'm a little confused and need some help.

I have a Def Tech systtem sporting a pair of PM700's for the front, a pair of BPX's in the rear and I am in the process of purchasing the CLR 2300. I'm currently using a Yamaha receiver, the 667, to drive the system, but I am now moving to seperates. My question is regarding the five channel amp. Given that the PM700's are powered, how much power do I actually need for this setup?
My local dealer, whom I've been dealing with for over 15 years, tells me I don't need anything more than the Anthem PVA5. 105 watts just don't seem enough to me during the times in which I like to crank it, which isn't very often.
He carries Halo, NAD, Anthem, Yamaha, Denon, Krell and Integra, as far as home theater goes. He believes that there is no need to spend more money for the Halo because he doesn't believe that there is no significant gain in performance. I can get the PVA 5 for $1099, and the Halo A52 for $1495.
For the record, I have also considered used amps, inlcuding both Rotels and Sunfire. These amps range in power from 125 to 200 watts per channel. Thanks for your assistance.
