I've read many posts here regarding 4seating.com many not very flattering of the service or products. I took the plunge and ordered from these guys anyway. I ordered a complete package, acoustic panels, accents, columns and theater seating it was a lot of money and a big leap but I'm a good American Express customer and I knew they would handle any problems should that arise.

Here are my thoughts on this company and I would be glad to answer any questions. I live in Idaho and have no affiliation with 4seating and I am a very discriminating consumer and in total have spent over $60,000 on this project. I was a business owner (just sold my company three months ago) who sold through many distribution channels such as big box retailers, coop hardware, large internet retailers, sporting goods chains etc. and I know how a few bad reviews can poison a business. I had such a good experience with this company I thought I should post an up to the minute accounting of what they are about. I even checked the California BBB before buying from them and they check out great with an A rating.

Kris from 4seating originally got me started with some great rendering of my room after I provided dimensions and door location so I could look at various options for panels columns, lighting, seating and carpet, very cool and Kris was quick to respond with changes.

Once my wife and I settled on the design Damien helped with putting the entire custom package together, it was fun to do because I knew we were making progress and would soon see the project come to life. I sent the below to Damien for their home page as a testimonial as soon as I received the seating, I received the panels and columns today. Needless to say I would recommend these guys. Any problems they had in the past they have worked out from my experience. My dealings with them were always professional and they were quick to respond.

"Just took delivery of two rows of four full leather Godfather II's and they far exceeded my expectations. The craftsmanship is impeccable and the leather is absolutely beautiful. 4seating.com was quick to ship and helped me every step with my $21,000 package purchase. You can pick up bits and pieces from multiple suppliers but 4 seating.com delivers the entire package with unique rendering capabilities, great prices and full knowledge of the products they sell".

2-26-08 (four weeks after purchase)

"Just took delivery of all of the acoustic panels, columns and accents, all carefully packed and seemed to have arrived in good shape. Installers are coming tomorrow will update this post when complete as we proceed with the project" I'm still happy with 4seating.com

Yes it's my first post becuase to be honest I never had anything to say that i thought was of value. This really has been a good experience for us and I would hate to see 4seating trashed for a few bad posts

I would be happy to answer any questions or send pictures of the project when finished.

Just an update a few peices were on backorder from the complete package I ordered and they shipped out yesterday.

The accoustic panls ceiling panels and columns went up yesterday and look fabulous. I ordered theater carpet seprately from Durkan which wasnt cheap, about $3200 for a 14 x 21 room but it's very high quality and unique.

Send me a private message and I will send pictures when complete. I really have no stake in posting a good or bad response I just think the company treated my wife and I well and hope others will give them a chance.

They have been showing at CES for the past three years and as I know from being a business owner it isnt an inexpensive proposition, so I think they are very commited to this market.

Here is the theater system if you are interested

JVC RS 2 Projector
Yamaha RXV 2800
Definitive Mythos Super towers, 4 Gem XL's, Mythos 10 center
Sony Blu Ray BDP-S500
APC J15

Sonos whole house
Stewart G3 Luxus Delux 130" screen
DirecTV DVR HD receiver

I would like to see some pictures.
I would like to see some pictures too. I have been on the fence about using these guys to get some theater seating. I like what they offer at the price points I am looking at but don't want to jump on board yet. If there are any vets on this board that have used them and had a positive experience I would love to hear from you as well.

In the meantime I appreciate the OP time for the review. I hope it is legit :) but I still want to hear from some people who have been around before I jump.

I realize a lot of people have purchased HT seating online without regret, but I don't think I could ever do so. With something like HT seating where comfort is absolutely paramount.... I 'gotta sit in it first to make certain that it passes my personal BUTT test!!

And yes...I thought that first post was a tad bit suspicious:rolleyes:

I made a special order for 3 Berkline leather theater seats last week from a brick/mortar, and will share photo's when they arrive:p

PS...I bought a matching leather couch too!! ( the couch is a lazyboy)

I can't wait!!

Was it from that company that you posted about in the "deals" section? I was thinking of using them too.

Can I post pictures on this site?

Anyway the room will be done on the 11th or 12th this month. It really is turning out well. Believe me this is legit. I am not afraid to trash a bad transaction and I've had some. I used the audioholics site to bone up on all of the equipment since with the exception of getting the crestron tied in I did everything else myself either contracting it or purchasing from a dealer. I got some of the equipment and the screen from Richard at Silver Screen Home Theater, he was a great help and spent a lot of time with me on the phone helping with screen size riser height and component selection. He also sells Birkline which we looked at but they didnt have narrow enough setaing to get two rows of four (that we liked). I agree with the sitting in the seat comment, but living in Idaho 60 miles from the Canadian border there isnt a lot of options for theater seating in a town of 6000. Luckily these seats are very comfortable, the two rows of four in all leather were about $12,000, I could have saved about $4000 by doing a really nice vinyl they sell that is as soft as the leather (most probably couldnt tell the diffrence) or just leather seating surfaces would have saved about $3000 but since I just sold my company I thought I would splurge. I'm hoping all of my choices work out especially the JVC RS 2 which I havent seen in action but Richard at Silver Screen thought it was worth the upgrade from the RS1 I'll let you know how that works out also.

Don't Use

I have placed an order from 4 seating.com and received the seating order for a 3 row set. I also order butt shakers for the seating and an amplifier. I had it all shipped to me using their quick ship order form. I waited 3 weeks to get my seating and it did not arrive, I then call out to them, and they told me myer still had not gone out.
I received the seats 3 weeks later, but still did not get my butt shakers or my amp. I called out to California, and they stated they still had not shipped, but not sure why. I received my amp and butt shakers 3 weeks later.
Now I tried to hook up my amp and install the shakers, but the amp is toast. I called out to them and 4 seating said, pay to have it shipped back and then we will ship you another one.
Advise use any other theatre seating company, that will back their product, because this company will never give you a straight answer, save your time and money.

4Seating Did Not Send our Product Either

My company ordered 6 lighted poster frames to display movie posters. They charged our credit card immediately. When I called after 4 weeks to track our order, the woman, we'll call her "A", whom answered, was incredibly rude to me. She said she'd email me the information, but didn't. I called back 4 days later, and then she emailed saying that the item was "damaged in shipping" and they would reorder as soon as possible. A week later, I asked for tracking again, and never got a response. I finally called and cancelled my order. A week later, I called to see if the refund was processed and they said they were in the process of moving buildings and couldn't process until the move was complete. We pushed the matter and two phone calls later A said that she couldn't give our refund because "they didn't have the money to refund." We finally filed a complaint with our credit card and had to get the refund that way. Be wary!

No problems with 4Seating

I recently ordered seating from 4Seating, and had no major problems that weren't handled easily. The original order somehow got misplaced, but, as with anything else, I checked, found a problem, called them, and it was resolved right away. Got the seating on time; excellent furniture, and no delivery problems. Buttshakers were backorderd, and sent Fedex the next week.

My advice: As with anything you order, keep tabs on it, and call if you have any questions or problems; don't let things go, and then complain about them. The present owners of 4Seating took over the business from others, who created the bad reputation.
