HTD HD-W65's and HD-R65's - Any Comments?

Hi, I just purchased three w65's for the front in wall speakers and 2 r65's for the rear in ceiling.
I know that this is not what most people recommend but because of space restrictions and budget this is what I eventually decided on. Currently I have an older pair of sony speakers that came with a friends home theatre in a box that he has since gotten rid of.
I was wondering if there will be a dramatic improvement with the new speakers as opposed to the sony's? I think my friend paid $350 for the whole setup so i imagine the speakers are very low end.
Hopefully they wont sound any worse but i have never had in wall/ceiling speakers before.

I suspect that the in-wall/ceiling speakers with 6.5" woofers will be an upgrade from the small satellite speakers that come with most HTIB system.

I am using several pairs of entry level in-ceiling speakers for background music in different rooms and they work great for that application.

I have the High Def 65's in my ceiling and use them as rear surrounds. They are built solid and sound great. They have rotating tweeters which I like. Besides rear surrounds, I also play music through them in 7 channel stereo (read: LOUD), and they sound good for that. I have a square of standard insulation behind each, but no box persay.

For the price, I'd recommend them. I am actually thinking about getting a pair of the in walls to put in the back of my HT/bar area with a separate amp, as it is a long way away from the rear surrounds (read: I'd like it louder down there).

The HTD's will blow away those sony micro speakers. I haven't listened to the standard one's you got, but I am sure they will be fine. Post a review when you have a listen, OK?

Hi, Thanks for the replies. The speakers are the High Def versions. The room is small (approx 8X10) so thats why i went with the smaller ones as opposed to the W80's

Make sure you add a sub for HT. The in-wall speakers wont have much output below 70-80 Hz.

I have sub though its not great...but it will do for now. I have a HSU sub already in a diff room with a projector and surround sound setup already. That sub is sick!
For this room i want to eventually upgrade to an HSU but first i have to get a blu-ray. Priorities!
