I'm just starting up my own home theater system and obviously looking at buying all the equipment for it. Was sort of TV brackets do you guys recommend? Ive got a flat screen TV that i want to mount above my fireplace. I've looked at a few companies online and found a few companies but my friend used one called AV NOW who he said were alright - has anyone else used then? Their website is http://www.avnow.co.uk - They seem to have a range of TV Brackets available - what do you guys think?

I have no ideas about brackets but i'm the first thing people will tell you is that it is a bad idea to install a tv above a fireplace. unless of course its not in use :)

Indeed. It is not a good idea to potentially expose a TV to smoke or heat.

You might want to consider another room for your TV, if possible. If not, try another place in the room, away from the fireplace. Of course, I know, you have your furniture oriented for the fireplace, and that it why you were thinking of putting the TV over it. Unless you have money to burn and don't mind buying a new TV frequently, rethink your plan.

TV mounting bracket

Peerless is one of the higher end companies for TV mounting brackets but products from other companies should work fine. Just make sure that size and weight rating of the bracket match your display and use the correct hardware when installing the bracket.
